How to make money blogging – You should know
Do you know bloggers can make money from their work too? Do you know how exactly they do it? And do you think you can do it too? Here we’ve got the answers to these questions for you.
3 steps to getting started
- Start your own blog and establish yourself as an authority by creating outstanding, useful content about your topic.
- Select and conduct the income streams which are related to your topic.
- Interact with other people online to keep your blog on top.
Professional bloggers can make millions of dollars a year. Others make a healthy full-time income. Some bloggers might make less or make no money at all. It’s more interesting to know how much a blogger can make. No amount is guaranteed so it’s not easy to tell, but there is literally no limit. It’s amazing how many creative ways bloggers generate huge income.
How long does it take to make money blogging?
New bloggers might take at least 3 to 6 months to make a decent part-time income and 1 to 2 years to make a consistent full-time income. There are always exceptions of course but these are reasonable averages. The idea that you can start a blog today and make a full-time income within a few months is actually not realistic. There is simply too much too learn and too much to build (site, content, social media presence, relationships with readers, etc.) as for new timers. If you need money right away, then making a blog might not be your best choice. But don’t be discouraged by that. After some difficulties at the beginning, you’ll get the hang of it and in the end, it’ll be well worth your effort.
What are the ways bloggers make money?
Though there’re many ways for bloggers to make money, here are 5 main popular ones:
- Advertising & sponsored content
Companies who want to get their products to potential customers may be interested in advertising on your blog, if your readers are the customers they need. Here is how to incorporate advertising into your blog: display ads in your content, giveaways and reviews, sponsored or underwritten posts, newsletter / video / podcast sponsorships. Advertising is a popular income stream for many bloggers as it is easy to start. However, it runs the risk of frustrating your readers, like they find those ads annoying and they’re being assaulted, which might make your site look cheap and unsophisticated
- Affiliate marketing
There are thousands of affiliate programs to join. Some I participate in: Amazon Associates, WP Engine, Bluehost, Amazon Influencer Program, Ultimate Bundles, Genesis, Target. Affiliate marketing is one of the most profitable income streams. You can highlight products or services you like without having to do the work of creating or maintaining that product yourself.
- Digital products
Many bloggers create and sell their own digital products online. This is a great idea because digital products don’t require inventory and can be distributed quickly and easily. Examples of digital products bloggers create: ecourses, online classes or workshops, ebooks, premium content, membership sites, photos, audios or videos, apps, plugins or themes.
- Physical products
You can make money blogging by selling physical products such as: books, handmade products, manufactured products, make money on youtube retail arbitrage, in-person conferences, classes or special events. Selling physical products can be profitable, but can get complicated with manufacturing, keeping inventory, shipping and returns, etc.
Bloggers can use expertise related to their blog topic and get paid when other people or companies hire them. Some services that can be offered locally or virtually such as: speaking, virtual assistance, freelancing, organizing, decorating, cooking. Offering a service is a great way to make money quickly because the costs are low, little to no inventory is required and you get paid for skills you already have. The drawback is that it’s not scalable. You can only earn as much money as your time allows you to.
Has this helped clear your mind? So now you can start your own blog and get your income following what we’ve compiled here for you. Good luck with making money blogging!
